About Amsterdam Art School

Our Mission

Amsterdam Art School is dedicated to fostering artistic excellence, creativity, and cultural appreciation. We provide comprehensive art education programs, host world-class exhibitions, and serve as a vibrant cultural hub in the heart of Amsterdam.

Our mission is to inspire and educate artists of all levels, from beginners discovering their creative voice to advanced practitioners refining their craft. We believe in the transformative power of art and its ability to connect people across cultures and generations.

Our History

Founded with a vision to create a premier art institution in Amsterdam, Amsterdam Art School has grown from a small art studio into one of the city's most respected art schools and galleries. Our journey began with a commitment to preserving traditional artistic techniques while embracing contemporary innovations.

Over the years, we have established partnerships with leading art institutions, hosted exhibitions by renowned artists, and developed comprehensive educational programs that combine classical training with modern approaches to art creation.

Our Programs

We offer a diverse range of programs designed to meet the needs of artists at every stage of their journey:

  • Foundation Courses - Comprehensive introduction to fundamental art principles, including drawing, composition, and color theory
  • Specialized Workshops - Intensive sessions focusing on specific techniques such as oil painting, watercolor, sculpture, and printmaking
  • Advanced Masterclasses - Programs for experienced artists led by master instructors and visiting artists
  • Digital Arts Programs - Courses in digital painting, graphic design, and multimedia art creation
  • Art History Studies - Educational programs exploring art history, from the Dutch Masters to contemporary movements
  • Youth Programs - Age-appropriate art education for children and teenagers, fostering creativity from an early age

Our Collections

Our galleries house an impressive collection of artworks spanning various periods and styles. From classical paintings inspired by the Dutch Masters to contemporary installations and digital art, our collections reflect the rich diversity of artistic expression.

We regularly rotate our exhibitions to showcase works from our permanent collection, special loan exhibitions, and pieces created by our students and faculty. This dynamic approach ensures that every visit offers something new to discover.
